Travel Accident Insurance
$250,000 Principal Sum Accidental Death & Dismemberment (AD&D) policy underwritten by Virginia Surety Company, Inc. Coverage applies automatically, at no cost, when the entire Common Carrier fare (airline, train, or ship) is charged to the GO REWARDS card, and extends to the cardholder's spouse and unmarried dependent children under 19 (25 if a full-time student, no limit if incapacitated), with dependents receiving 50% of the cardholder's benefit. Pays 100% of the Principal Sum for loss of life, both hands/feet, sight in both eyes, or one hand/foot plus sight in one eye; 50% for loss of one hand, one foot, sight in one eye, or speech/hearing; and 25% for loss of thumb and index finger on the same hand. This is a death-and-dismemberment-only policy — it does NOT pay benefits for sickness. Written notice of claim must be sent within 20 days of the loss.
Emergency Evacuation
None as an insurance benefit — there is no medical evacuation or repatriation-of-remains insurance policy on this card. Travel and Emergency Assistance Services (available 24/7 by calling 1-800-992-6029, or collect outside the U.S. at 1-804-673-1675) provides referral-only assistance for emergency transportation home or to the nearest medical facility and, in the case of a death, can help arrange repatriation of remains — but the cardholder is responsible for all actual medical, transportation, and related costs; the service only makes arrangements and referrals, it does not pay for evacuation.
Purchase Protection
Purchase Security is included, branded as "Purchase Security" in the official benefit guide. It protects new retail purchases made entirely or partially with the eligible Account and/or associated rewards program within the first ninety (90) days from the date of purchase, covering damage from fire, smoke, lightning, explosion, riot, vandalism, windstorm, hail, rain, sleet, snow, accidental discharge of water/steam, sudden accidental electrical damage, and theft (except from cars/motorized vehicles). Coverage is capped at $500.00 per claim and $50,000.00 per cardholder, and pays on an excess basis after any other applicable insurance (homeowner's, renter's, auto, employer's) has been exhausted, including the outstanding deductible. Claims must be filed within 60 days of the loss by calling 1-800-553-4820, with full documentation submitted within 90 days. Excluded items include antiques, collectibles, motorized vehicles, computer software, perishables, medical equipment, items lost or stolen from a vehicle, and items in checked baggage.
Earn Rates
Per Navy Federal's official Program Description and Credit Card Q&A, GO REWARDS Visa Signature cardholders earn 3 points per $1 of net purchases at restaurants, 2 points per $1 of net purchases for gas, and 1 point per $1 on all other net purchases. "Net purchases" excludes cash advances, convenience checks, balance transfers, gambling, and fees. Bonus-category earning requires the merchant's payment network code to be classified as restaurant or gas — purchases via mobile/wireless card readers, e-wallets (e.g., Google Pay), or third parties (e.g., PayPal) earn only 1 point/$1 regardless of category. There is no cap on points earned and points do not expire while the account remains open. Note: applicants approved for a credit line under $5,000 receive the non-Visa-Signature base GO REWARDS card instead, which carries different (fewer) benefits than described here.
Welcome Bonus
As of the current NFCU product page, GO REWARDS is marketed with a 0.99% introductory APR on purchases for the first six (6) months of account opening rather than a cash or points sign-up bonus; after that, the standard variable APR of 13.49%–18.00% applies. Unlike the cashRewards cards, there is no confirmed cash-back welcome bonus tied to a spending threshold for GO REWARDS as of this research.
Lost / Stolen Baggage
None as a paid insurance benefit — there is no lost or stolen baggage reimbursement policy. Travel and Emergency Assistance Services includes a "Lost Luggage Locator Service" that helps the cardholder navigate the Common Carrier's claim procedures or arrange shipment of replacement items, but the cardholder is responsible for the cost of any replacement items shipped, and this is assistance/referral only, not a cash benefit.
Secondary Rental Car
Within the cardholder's country of residence, Auto Rental Collision Damage Waiver is secondary to any personal auto insurance the cardholder holds — it reimburses the deductible portion of that insurance plus unreimbursed administrative/loss-of-use charges and reasonable towing charges. If the cardholder has no other applicable insurance, the benefit pays directly for covered theft, damage, and related charges. Domestic rental periods are covered for up to fifteen (15) consecutive days. Excluded vehicles include exotic/antique cars (e.g., Ferrari, Lamborghini, Rolls-Royce, Tesla), cargo vans, trucks, motorcycles, and rentals originating in Israel, Jamaica, the Republic of Ireland, or Northern Ireland. Theft/damage must be reported within 45 days and a claim form postmarked within 90 days.
Primary Rental Car
Primary Auto Rental Collision Damage Waiver applies only when renting outside the cardholder's country of residence. In that scenario, the benefit reimburses covered theft, damage, or administrative/loss-of-use charges imposed by the rental company, plus reasonable towing charges, as the first (primary) payer, up to the Actual Cash Value of the vehicle, for rental periods up to thirty-one (31) consecutive days. To activate coverage, the entire rental transaction must be charged to the card and the rental company's own CDW/LDW must be declined.
Authorized User Fee
There is no fee to add an Authorized User to a Visa Signature GO REWARDS account. Navy Federal's official Credit Card Pricing Terms disclosure (NFCU 573CC) lists only Annual Fee, Balance Transfer, ATM Cash Advance, Foreign Transaction, Late Payment, and Returned Payment as chargeable fees; no Authorized User fee line item exists anywhere in the pricing schedule or the Credit Card Agreement and Disclosure. The primary Cardholder remains fully responsible for all transactions made by an Authorized User, but adding one costs nothing.
